to walk through hollows
dangle toes in creeks
pat the dog
study eagles, cranes and gulls

to kiss the softness of a new babe’s hand
then envision an ocean of wildflowers
that flow and scent beneath my feet
while butterflies flit and fly
and bees pollinate

to hear
and feel the rain patter, spatter
splash its coolness upon my face
to steal a kiss of love
beneath a storefront awning
then to listen to the hush of rain
while it drifts you into sleep

to eat the first fresh snowflake
that falls on the day winter awakens
to tempt snow builders come out
make cheeks of rose glow

O heaven knows

I love watching sails at harbour
and colourful frenzies of kites filling skies
to the wind sails on Long Beach
where the surf seems never ending

… the kiss of a simple
yet extraordinary taste of life
captivates sweet songs … every day.
