A pearl, a fragment of spiritual time
A jewel … in transformation
Sharing a perfect soul,
with such a world of imperfection
in one small, yet great measure

Ikiela
Forever shine
Blessed are we who have known your spirit

Although home has been confined
within white walls since birth
You’ve spared a smile of love and courage
To help renew all broken wings of faith
By showing how to give … to give of love so freely

Smile on in wonder, little blue eyed babe
Rest your tiny breast from labour
Let soft blowing winds
carry you to spirit worlds,
Where cherubs comfort you in tender song,
As angels lift your precious soul to higher planes,
May you laugh with other babes
who share the journey

Peaceful baby’s breath
on soft spoken sighs
Sleep, sleep, little one … in lilacs
and fields of clover
Lavender to lay your tiny head amidst

Petals of rose tears, fall on paths
and we shall not forget how great a love
… one so small can bless this grandmother’s heart
My little one … I love you … know peace
Know rest … bless you little pearl

Thorns dig deeply at your side
Vinegar seeps into open wounds
Waves smash rocks … in persistence

For now, my daughter
Become the sand,
Allow cool water to shape you … in the artistry of life
Know life

On wake, I'll ride for you
I’ll take the blow and
Cradle your child,
Who has fallen and scraped her knee

Flow and grow
Let calm of mournful skies
Comfort … crystal pearled eyes
And know there is peace to be found

Blow by blow feel the wind
Breathe the air … know you still have life

And that
You are as always
My own little girl

Here You Shall Find Me

must find me
we must meet

having met, we must
meet again in the shadows of
truth
beauty shines through the window and
dances with the dust in the air
the cat sits by the window
watching the birds
I sit by the window with your memory
watching for you
in the birds
in the trees
we must meet across the river
in the shade of that tree
that tree we cling to
so the raging waters of the flood
may not drown us in our own
innocence
