Driving down hwy 71 on Saturday a poem by Rebecca Buchanan

Darkness then light
Light then darkness
Driving down hwy 71 on Saturday
I notice the shadows
On the highway
(Then passing through the shadows)
Patches and
Paths of light
Bright and Clear
I see a pattern
I recognize
A pattern of a puzzle
Then I’m in the shadow again
Feeling as if it won’t end
Light again then
And speeding along so
That I don’t have to stay
In one place too long
And it’s like that isn’t it?
Moving through at a speed
That catchs shadows and then light
Light and then shadows

Driving down highway 71 on Saturday.
