A Walk in the Park to Meet God
by Marilyn McIntyre

i heard You whisper
i heard Your whispers
a sweet sunset stillness
a calm
no storm
a calm
the ancient oak
waves last fall fingers
a calm
no storm
a calm
a sweet, sweet, sunset calm
i knew it was You
Your breath
a slow dawning
of miracle
a running above the snow
floating down the stairs
i dropped my book
my guard for You
my heart
my hold
i was sore, sore, sore, afraid
but i didn’t fall.
