Abstract Guitar Painting

Short Interview with Beth Boudreaux

When did you start painting and why?

I’ve always sketched as a kid and then ten years ago I picked up a paint brush because I wanted to paint..and I dabbled in it but never really painted until a year ago. I was going through a rough time and it was my escape from reality. I found my niche in abstract and mixed media.

Your colors are bold. Is that your personality?.How do you choose color?

I guess you could say so. I’m pretty blunt

How do you choose your subjects? Is it hard to find a “motif” like Abstract Objects Art?

I have tons of ideas written down and I just choose one off of my list and dive in. But sometimes I don’t know until I start painting. I don’t plan it.

You paint guitars. When done in an abstract way, they have a musical feel. Is music important in your art ?

I like the curves to a guitar… Which is why I do them so much. I play the violin and grew up in a musical family so yes it’s a huge part of who I am.

You sell real estate. Do you think that gives you an advantage? Do you paint to sell or do you paint to express or both?

No I don’t think selling RE gives me advantage in selling art at all.. I paint for me and it just so happened people wanted it. I wasn’t even trying to sell
